NORTH RENFREW LANDFILL OPERATIONS BOARD

WASTE ACCEPTED AT THE SITES OR AT THE CURB

  General Categories of Waste
Ordinary household waste that is not scrap metal, not cardboard, not C&D, and not Household Hazardous Waste may be placed at the curbside for pickup on the regular days for your area.
Note that all waste that is accepted for Blue Box (BB) can also be brought directly to the Baggs Road Site.  Please make maximum use of the Blue Box pickup.
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) must be brought directly to the Baggs Road Site for disposal and must NOT be placed at curbside for collection.
Construction and Demolition Waste (C&D) must be taken directly to the Miller Road Site.  Town of Deep River residents are allowed to place certain such items at curbside for Spring and Fall pickup (S&F).
Items that are still of use to other people may be left in the "re-use" area at Baggs, and items you find attractive may be removed.
Subject to tipping fees, clean wood, tree limbs, cut-up trees and brush (Clean Wood) can be taken to the Baggs Road Site for chipping and composting on payment of tipping fees.
Grass clippings, yard, and garden waste can be taken to Baggs Road for composting on payment of tipping fees if applicable.  Deep River residents only may place these materials for curbside pickup.
Car or light truck tires, not on rims, may be taken to Baggs Rd for free disposal.  Tires on rims, or larger tires may be taken on payment of tipping fees.
Some products are not currently accepted for disposal at all.  We have no intention of ever accepting ammunition, explosives, or products containing PCBs.
Cardboard must be either placed for Blue Box collection or brought to Baggs Road for recycling.  It is banned from curbside household waste.
Subscribers to the Ottawa Citizen Newspaper can recycle the plastic bags that the paper comes in by collecting them and put them back into your Citizen Delivery Box.  They will be collected by the distributor for reuse.
Scrap metal of all types except small items incidental to C&D Waste must be taken to Baggs Road where they will be accepted without any tipping fee.  This includes scrap appliances, plumbing, metal roofing, metal siding and small car parts.  For removal of derelict vehicles please contact your Municipal Office.
