BAGGS ROAD LANDFILL SITE - NOT C&D WASTE
The following schedule of fees is effective as of August 1, 2012

Note that for loads consisting entirely of recyclable materials, scrap metal,
brush/compostable yard waste, electrical/electronic materials, Household Hazardous
Wastes, reusable materials for the Re-Use Area and tires there are "no charges" if
deposited in their appropriate collection areas
.

Brush, small tree limbs/branches, grass cuttings, leaves and compostable yard waste are accepted
free of charge. When the finished compost material is approved (after an analysis that indicates
that it meets provincial standards) it is made available for residents to load and haul at no charge.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE

Acceptable Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) materials have no tipping fees.
The acceptable HHW materials includes lead/acid batteries (used in cars, trucks etc.), paints/stains in containers
up to 30 liters, propane tanks, motor oil, hydraulic fluids including transmission fluid, engine antifreeze/glycol,
appliances containing refrigerant (freezers, refrigerators, dehumidifiers etc.), rechargeable and single use dry cell
batteries, gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, Varsol, methanol and other flammable liquids, soaps/detergents, fertilizers,
pesticides, herbicides, acids, alkaline materials, organic/inorganic chemicals, aerosols, fluorescent light tubes and
compact fluorescent spiral bulbs.

Hazardous materials that are not accepted are PCB-containing materials,
radioactive waste, bio-medical waste, explosives and ammunition.

VEHICLE TIRES
There are no fees for tires of any size, on or off rims.

RE-USE AREA AND APPLIANCES
An area has been provided for those items for which you personally no longer have a need, but are too good or useful to just be thrown in the landfill. This "Re-use" area is located immediately inside the gate of the Baggs Road landfill.  Feel free to take away anything you find in this area for which you have a use.  There is no charge for anything you take.  Please leave here, again at no charge, anything you feel may be useful to the next person.
Please be particularly cautious in this area since you will encounter broken glass and sharp metal objects.  Electronic equipment should be assumed to have deadly electrical charges stored in their internal capacitor circuits, particularly on television sets and computer crt monitors.
This is also the area where appliances are stored for scrap metal pickup.  Do not cut or otherwise interfere with the cooling systems in appliances that may contain refrigerant.  We have an arrangement whereby these refrigerants are safely and professionally removed from the appliances in acccordance with Provincial regulations.
